Last night my husband received his Lululemon SeaWheeze shorts, complete with 3D glasses and reversible bag.
The pattern is very graphic and the glasses really do work: the dots pop out. We’ll see if my husband actually wears them, though.
As you can see, my son greatly enjoys the bag.
I went to a movie last night, “The Lunchbox,” an Indian film about an unhappy Mumbai housewife and the relationship she strikes up with a lonely man when the lunch-delivery service accidentally starts delivering lunches she’s made to him instead of her husband.
It was pretty good, but a little slow. It was slightly long, although my opinion may have more to do with the fact that I was tired and the movie didn’t start until 8:35 p.m. I yawned a lot during the last half hour. I probably should have just waited for DVD… But then I would have missed out on the movie popcorn (the theater I went to, the Grand Cinema, makes the best).
I went for an easy 4-miler this morning with my running partner, A, and now it’s time for me to eat a little crow. Maybe my green smoothies aren’t giving me enough energy? Yes, there was a headwind, and yes, our elderly dog running partner accompanied us, but my pace suuucked. These don’t look like the kinds of stats a Boston Qualifier should be posting 3 weeks before her goal race:
Every runner has good and bad days, and I’m hoping this was just a bad day rather than evidence that I’m not capable of a BQ. Ugh. Stress. And I’m not even in taper yet!
Bruise review: the aftermath of my fall during my Tacoma City Half Marathon cool-down on Sunday isn’t pretty.
Don’t even ask me how falling on one’s thigh and having it skid along wet pavement leads to three separate circle-shaped bruises. I don’t know. Maybe I should hire an accident reconstructionist? I’m looking forward to when the bruises turn yellow. Oh, well—at least these battle wounds are reminders to watch where I’m running and never cheer on other runners as I’m doing so.
I decided to put the “Casual” in Casual Friday today and wore my weekend pants to work.
(Gawd, selfies are awkward.) Yep, I’m rockin’ some athletic pants at the office today. I think the patent leather ballet flats really make the outfit. It’s all about comfort after wearing heels to court this morning… plus Mothers’ Day is on Sunday and I can do whatever I want for the entire weekend leading up to it, right?
Ooh! A fun surprise landed on my desk at work today:
My 3D SeaWheeze shorts arrived!
Lululemon offered two choices again this year, and I ordered the Tracker Short II, which are baggier and longer than the other choice, the Speed Short (a.k.a. So-Short-Your-Lady-Business-Might-Fall-Out Short). The pattern, as you can see, is different than the men’s pattern, but the Tracker and Speed Shorts share the same chevron pattern.
They’re fun, but I don’t know if I’m going to be able to tolerate watching hundreds of people running in this pattern for 13.1 miles come August. I might get motion sickness.
I selected the (very similar) Track Attack Short for the 2013 SeaWheeze and wear them on short runs and at TRX. I don’t like to wear them for longer runs because the fabric is a little thick and they ride up. As you can probably tell by my nickname for the Speed Short, I like to keep my upper thigh area covered when at all possible.
And that’s enough randomness for now. Have a great weekend!
