2015 Boston Marathon: Denied

And just like that, it ended:

BAA Denial Capture

With a cut-off of 1 minute and 2 seconds (1:02), my -:27 just wasn’t good enough to make the cut to earn me a 2015 Boston Marathon registration.

Oh well, at least the waiting is over. Now I can move forward and start shopping for a spring marathon to run and hopefully get another BQ.

Onward!

    • Aww, thanks, Tara. The rejection doesn’t hurt that badly because it’s merit-based. I do wonder what would have happened, though, if I had taken a Gu earlier in the latter part of the course, or if there hadn’t been a headwind, or a bunch of other variations on what actually happened on race day back in May. All I can do now is look forward.

  1. I’m so sorry to hear that so many of you were disappointed yesterday – but I manage the marathon team for Samaritans, Inc. and we would love to have you as a members of our team! Email me at erabinowitz@samaritanshope.org if you are interested in learning more – our applications are due October 24th.

  2. I’m so sorry to hear that. I’m excited to hear what your next marathon will be though, and I think my first marathon will be in the spring, so I can use your training as motivation!
