I’m experimenting with something new today after reading a great post on Fairytales and Fitness: Joining a new link-up on Running with Spoons that’s themed “thinking out loud.” Because I think every post I write is me, thinking out loud (perhaps a bit too much), I decided to put a little spin on the theme and list some really random stuff I’ve encountered lately.
When I was in Eugene last weekend, I stopped at Trader Joe’s to buy some water and snacks and came across a new product (to me), Baconesque White Cheddar Popcorn. Think Smart Food with bacon flavor. My husband and I blew threw the bag in fewer than 24 hours.
I don’t know what it is about summery, fruity beverages, but I love them. This recipe for Guadalajara Punch from the Splendid Table looks refreshing and delicious. It’s a great drink for a crowd and it has watermelon wedges in it! What could be better?
My blog is only 18 months old, so it’s a toddler in the blogging world. I’m still trying to learn everything I can about growing my audience and increasing my social media presence to assist in that goal. So how perfect was it when I picked up the latest issue of Tiger Beat for my daughter, who was home sick and needed a pick-me-up?
All I really need to know about increasing my social media profile can be found in a tween celebrity magazine! (But seriously–who are all those people on that cover? Am I that old?)
If you’ve read my blog, you probably know that I have issues with sleep.
I don’t sleep enough and it’s bad for my body and therefore bad for my running. Sleep = time to recover. Recently, I came across this interesting method of how to fall asleep in less than a minute from Time.com. I haven’t tried to yet, but I will and let you know how it goes.
I found this funny/true/sad(?) sign about modern motherhood in the housewares section of my local boutique grocery store and really, really wanted to buy it for one of my friends for Mother’s Day. Still kicking myself for not buying it.
And speaking of signs, I love funny spectator signs at races. It seems like people are running out of creative ideas, though, because I haven’t seen any new ones for a while. This, however, is perfect:
Finally, thanks for being patient with my delayed posting of the homemade, copycat Crunchwrap Supreme recipe. I made mine based on tips I received from a friend a work and my stylist, and from this recipe I consulted on Culinary Couture. Even if you don’t like Taco Bell (I don’t), try this recipe. It is so easy and so good!
That’s all for now, lovahs. Stay random.
Have any random awesome or funny finds lately? What’s the funniest spectator sign you’ve seen at a race? What’s your favorite item at Trader Joe’s?
