My Favorite Books of 2015

At the beginning of 2015, I set a lofty goal for myself on Goodreads: Read 30 books over the course of the year. This may not seem like a lot to some of my bookworm friends, but it was ambitious for me. I’m not a speed reader and I have a lot of distractions (namely, working full time and having two active kids), so trying to meet this goal took a fair amount of effort.

I read so many good books this year! I’m still working on Books #30, Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer, and #31, The Walking Dead, Compendium 1, by Robert Kirkman,, which I plan to finish before the clock strikes 11:59 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. Even though I haven’t completed them, I already know which books are my favorites this year.

Things I’m Loving Lately: Dog Days Edition

It’s been a while since I’ve checked in with a Things I’m Loving Lately post, and I’ve encountered enough rad things in the interim that there are too many to list. Seriously. Well, I could list them, but you’d have to take a nap break midway through this post.

Here are my absolute faves lately:

The Oiselle Constellation Roll Sleeve

When I attended its flagship store grand opening last month, Oiselle was kind enough to gift me and other attendees of its after-party with a limited edition Constellation Roll Sleeve. It’s made of ultra-soft cotton and has a simple but pretty design which makes it highly versatile. I’ve worn it with super casual shorts at the pool as well as with khakis at work on casual Friday. Checking in just to be random

Hello, faithful readers. I’m still here, hanging on the edge of the blogosphere. Promise. I’ve had a lot of stuff thrown at me lately (all good stuff, but still stuff) and it’s throwing me off of my regular blogging schedule.

I did want to check in and update y’all a bit with what I’ve been up to or seen over the last week or so.

5 Must-Read Blogs

Happy Friday! Are you doing your happy dance? I am. One good thing about being too busy is that workweeks fly by quickly. I have some fun stuff on deck this weekend (lots of time with the kids, a trip up to Seattle) and I’m ready for the clock to strike 5:00 p.m.

Should you find yourself with some spare time this weekend to do some online reading that’s not running related, here’s my list of 5 Must-Read Blogs:

1.  Brian Moylan’s Real Housewives recaps on Vulture

I used to love reading Brian Moylan’s Real Housewives episode recaps when he wrote for Gawker, but then he left a few years ago and started writing for another publication that I didn’t follow. Continue reading

5 Favorite Things Right Now

TGIF, party people! It’s Friday and I’m back for another Friday 5 Link-Up with Courtney at Eat, Pray, Run DC, Mar at Mar on the Run, and Cynthia at You Signed up for What?!

Today’s theme is favorite things, and I since it’s been ages since I’ve shared things I’ve been loving lately, this theme arrived at the perfect time.

These are the top 5 things I’ve been loving lately:

1. Albanese Gummi Bears

How do I feel about these? They are the best gummi bears I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. And I’ve been on the earth a long time, folks! Albanese gummis come in 12 flavors. My favorite is probably pineapple, which is slightly lame of me because every gummi bear company already makes pineapple-flavored gummi bears, but all of the other unique flavored (e.g., blue raspberry, watermelon) are fantastic.  We can’t keep these babies in stock at our house.
